Fuse for wipers blows immediately when inserted. Fuse blows even when front wiper motor is unplugged. Column switch bad? Rear wiper motor bad? I haven't tried unplugging the rear motor yet.

If you haven't even turned on the wipers and the fuse blows you have a problem between the switch and the supply. Its not going to be easy to find but I would start looking by any aftermarket stuff added to the car like radio's or alarms. Most likley someone left a wire exposed and it has rubbed and shorted to your ground.

Happy hunting!

Jim

PS: Don't be tempted to install larger fuses. You will find the fault but most likley smoke your harness.

Solved the problem by eliminating possible sources of shorts. Started by disconnecting front wiper motor, still blew fuses. Removed rear door panel and disconnected rear wiper motor, fuse didn't blow. Replaced motor with one from junkyard (freebie) and now both front and rear wipers work.
