A lot of problems?? What did you hear?

I have a 2003 ES with 80k miles which would go for around $7k I'd imagine and I have had virtually zero problems with it to date. And the only service I do is religously change the oil and rotate the tires. *knock on wood*.

I have an 04 galant ls, and have almost no problems, there are 60000miles exactly right now. The only problem was a small issue with a sensor that set off a light on the dash, but that was easily fixed. My grandparents have an 8th gen and haven't had any problems, but I'm not sure of the milage, they don't really drive that much.

I had a '98 Galant with a 2.4L that had 80K when I unloaded it. Only reason I did is because one of the pulleys rusted off (before I fixed cars) and I didn't want to fix it.

I have a 2002 Galant, v6 3.0 and ti has 185,000+ miles on it. No major problems. Just keep the oil changed, tires rotated and timing belt changed (every 90k).

Recent issues due to my mechanic and not changing the timing belt properly, but other than that, the car itseklf has been fine.

Oh, and the fact it takes only super-unleaded.

Drive all the cars you mentioned, and buy the one you have the most fun driving, if you change ther oil at regular intervals, you'll be fine with most cars.

My 02 has more rust than I've ever seen on a car and yet it's still the most reliable car I've ever had. If you can find a GTZ for $7K take it! Otherwise I'm sure you can get a nice 2000 or 01 4cyl. for 7 grand. They're very good cars for what you'll pay

I wouldn't say there are a LOT of problems. I would say galants are average for both imports and domestics. I mean any car will give you problems after long enough. I bought mine with a few problems, but in the 9 months I've had it, I've never had to replace anything that wasn't already worn on the dealer lot.

I have a 1999 2.5 v6 galant. It's done 95k miles, the day I picked it up it blew the auto gearbox, which was replaced not long before.
A replacement box cost £1000 (UK) and took 2 months to get repaired.
It has also had problems with ABS sensor, immobiliser, and various other bits.
It is a very complicated car, & should be reliable if it's well looked after but I think I just got a bad one.
It is a great car to drive though, much more fun than a ford mondeo and pretty good on fuel (30 mpg)

I have an 03 esv6 and have only recently been experiencing problems with it. I have no doubt its due to the absolutly terrible gas that Arizona is forced to use. (pretty sure the injectors are plugged) the previous owner had the car repainted (badly) and its not available in a manual transmission. other than that the car is choice and i recommend them highly
