Can anyone help my space gear will stall after approx 1 mile ,if left to warm up for 10 mins it will not do it and once restarted it is fine .There is a bit of smoke when restarted but i think that is excess fuel ,it runs fine once it has done this with no power problems and no smoke .The garages who have looked at it have no idea .

Hi Whighhtrider

Would have replied earlier but have only just joined forum and noticed a problem that i had. Except i only got half mile befor stalling. When you start vehicle and its only ticking over the glow plugs are burning the fuel ok. However when you start off they are struggling and a build up occurs causing the engine to choke itself and stall. When you restart it the glow plugs are getting an added burst and become hot enough to start the engine kicking out the black smoke. They are then hot enough to continue driving the rest of the day with no problems. Solution..... Clean or replace the buz bar (The strip of metal joining all the glow plugs) and/or invest in new glow plugs. I did both and problem was curred. If you don't sort it come winter you will have problems worse than now. All the best.....
