ok im a total newbie to having an l200 wheres the ecu etc and how would you tell if it has been chipped up?

the ecu is not actually chipped up as you put it.look under your glovebox kick panel and look for a small black box that has a lead to a silver unit as well.this is the power upgrade unit.it will also have a lead that plugs into the ecu behind the same kick panel.you should be able to see the silver control box by taking the lower dash trim off and not removing the kick panel.

This is only applicablt to the older l200 trucks and not the new cr versions.as well it may have a newer style power upgrade depending on when it was fitted which will be entirely contained behind the kick panel.
