Bought this car for a a second vehicle but not sure if I need it. Thinking about keeping it. Heard that these arent bad cars
It has 171,000kms, newer paint, interior is real good, glass is good.
pulled the plugs and they were burning clean. trany was replaced before with about 140,000 kms on it.
its starts great and noknocking or very little chattering.
may need brakes, front tires and replace a axle, cracked boot. i can replace these myself so no labour costs.

I dont know much about the Mitsubishi power train.

Hard to find information on these cars.

questions if anyone is interested in answering.

Is this car with these kms and year of it worth fixing up at all or is it just going to fall apart and cost a ton money to run?

Is the time belt hard to change and what else should be changed while its apart? if i keep i might as well replace it before it breaks and wrecks the engine.

Has air cond. but it doesnt kick in, not siezed. any ideas why it woudnt kick in?

What makes and years of cars can i get parts and if i had to replace motor or trany would bolt right in?

What else should i look at or expect to to go wrong with car that is common?

If someone has some ideas and suggestions, that would be great.

Or maybe i should just sell it and find a honda civic hatch thats had the crap driven out of it for 3 times the money.

I hope thats a joke!!!
These cars are brilliant, theirs quite alot online if youknow where to look ,try
www.4g61t.org youll find loads on there about it and also info on what you can swap with what from other models.I changed the belt on a 1.3 version, done the two other belts at same time ,was straight forward and took alot less time than has done on previous cars.you may want to swap the water pump at same time for handiness sake

Yes i was kidding about the honda.

its in pretty nice shape, probably would have to put in about $500.00 to bring up to date.
The interior looks like that to.
the dash is cracked though but that is it.

I am just leery because i bought a 82 celica a couple years ago and it turned into a money pit. even worse i was buying parts off of ebay because it so hard to find them. finally the timing chain blew and i couldnt even find a old motor for it.
sold it for next to nothing and was a big loss.

Like i said, im not up on the mitsubishis so i just want to get some feedback from people that own them.

anymore input would be great.
Also, is the dash hard to take out, i would probably replace it or cover it if its not to difficult.

thanks so far!!
