The alternator of my 85 l300 is shot. 2 Litre version. The wrecker quoted $250, saying it was special in some way, internal somethingorother, yes I know nothing about cars, but am I having the wool pulled over my eyes? What's the spec number for the alternator? Maybe I can find another one on Ebay.

Good morning to all!
The alternators on our vans are "Generally" An internally regulated Mitsubishi item. Should you remove your dead alternator and take it to a Bursons/Repco store they will be able to match it up to a brand new Holden/Ford alternator at a considerable bit less than you have been Quoted. Alternators are pretty much universal....Only the mounting lugs differ from model to model. Wont be hard to find one that fits........Maybe the wrecker has had a slow month!!!

Regards Ken
