I was looking at the supercharger websites and I was wondering if anyone who has a carisma has installed this kind of supercharger?

Does anyone know anything about these superchargers and whether they effect the performance of the motor on the long run or not?

I want to see the disadvantages and advantages of the supercharger:
(advantage of course that it is faster)

This site talks about the electric supercharger....

I emailed the electric supercharger company:
(THEIR REPLY):

Hi,
Yes, we do have an electric supercharger and performance chip to fit
your Mitsubishi Carisma 1999 1.6.

Your fuel efficiency should increase 2-3 MPG.

Our superchargers work on highly advanced technology new to the
industry. It works by compressing air using a centrifugal turbine. The
results are more horsepower and torque for minimal price.

Extraneous sources have tested our units in lab, and have reported
information as follows:

Air Pressure : 1.256 PSI
Air Flow : 856 CFM
Power Consumption : 765 Watts
Spooling Rate : 27500 RPM
Size : 4"x4"x4"

Customer reports have shown that vehicle has given 33-34 HP and 22-23
FT/LBS gains on
average when using our supercharger and chip.

They have been designed to do the very efficiently.

We offer a lifetime satisfaction guarantee on all of our products here
at North End Tuning. No harm will ever been done to your engine by
installing our products. If you ever have a problem with our products,
you can just send them back for a refund.

Our supercharger is such a great value because we have state of the art
technology here at North End Tuning. We offer a fair value to our
customers.

We have been in business longer than any other in industry, and our
products give the maximum power gains possible using the technology
provided.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Regards,
Leroy - Customer Service

I also found this site that has another kind of supercharger but is not electric and of course is cheaper.

If there may be any disadvantages and effects on the performance of the motor, i expect it to be from the electric superchargers as the the second kind of superchargers is only placed in the air filter to increase the flow of air........

please let me know which one you would buy and the reason!! :gunsmilie:
thanks

WASTE OF MONEY. They don't do a damn thing AND...it runs off of 12V current, so you can't constantly run them!

I've had a few people ask me why these are worthless. You would get the same reaction from hooking a leafblower into your intake. All it does is push air FASTER, not more of it.
