Hello everyone-
I have an 08 lancer with stock stereo. Noted that the speaker pods in the corners of the doors (for tweeters) appear to be pre-wired for sound. Can anyone confirm a tweeter install on these? Wondering if it is plug and play, or if they still need to be wired to the head. Seems like this would be a piece of cake and a great improvement to the sound.
Thanks in advance for the replies.
Dave

Well I'm not sure exactly what your question is.. But I'm guessing your asking if the wires that go to that speaker will go to one thats not stock? Well if there is wires there then they prob go to the head, all you need to do is to strip the wire ect. But if your wanting to have your own sound system in the car I would consider different wire, thats just my preference, stock is not always the best way to go, if you want a stereo system. I hope that this awnsered your question, if not just clarify for me..

it would depend what trim you have on the lancer. is it the de, es, or gts?

if its the de it just has the blank delta cover and more likely you would have to change that one to one that has a speaker in order to add a speaker and then try to run the wires to the head or maybe splice them to the other door speaker.

if its the es or gts you should have the speakers already in the doors and working. specially since the gts comes with the rockfordfosgate system.
