Hi, I wanted to know if anyone is having bad reception on FM radio. The ST and the RDS light on the radio keeps blinking. Also when I drive the radio sound quites and then goes loud again randomly. I already went back to the dealer and they replace the radio part and its still not working.. I wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem I have been experiencing

Is your ride tinted all around? If yes, then your tinter might have used a metallize film which is known for messing up radio, cellphone, and navi signals.

That's why Huper Optik ceramics, 3m Crystalline and Solar Gard Ultra Performance films are in the tint market now using nano-technology approach to address this alleged blocking-off radio signals caused by metallize films especially the navi gps transmission. Though it's expensive enough (approximately USD500-600) all around but then the lifetime warranty (some are limited) can vouch its quality on radio signal friendly, non-fading/decolorize and most of all its safety due to clarity during rain/night driving are worth enough for extra dollars.

Yeah right, knowing is half of the battle and the other half is the actual installation of these films. :57:

It is a fact that heavily tinted windows are most likely be caught in an accident because of reduced visibility during rain/night driving, not to mention the blurry eyes and brain due to drunkenness...

sunny_m, congrats for your new Lancer GTS 08 and welcome to the club dude.

It seems that the radio signal is just weak or have many dead spots, does your weird sound problem applies to all stations/frequencies in your area?

Yea I actually have the same problem. I took mine back to the dealer and they couldn't find the problem, however I met one of the techs and he was going to contact a mitsu engineer and get back with me. If anyone knows whats going on please let me know.

Nope, I turned that "secret button" off and it keeps doing hte same thing. They already replaced a radio part already. I think I'll go back next week or something. They wanted me to see if i can make it do it like ie. when ever i break or turn. But I found out it has a mind of its own , it does it when ever it likes. BTW your from Vancouver, you having problem with the receptions for 94.5 or 95.3 ? The "ST" on the radio parts blinks often too.. I'm having also bad reception. Works fine for AM though the reception.

I am having the same problem with my radio and its badd. I have had my 08 lancer for about 2 and a half months and i have already put 6000 miles on it (no joke) and ive probably listened to the same 3 cds about 25 times just to avoid the shitty FM reception. I havent even been able to get full use out of my monster ipod fm transmitter.

Going to the dealer in a few weeks to get the recall taken care of, to look at the radio, and remove some door dings that some kind people have already given me

indeed radio reception is poor, problem is related to sensivity of the input logic, ST cutts out, switching stations some times too quick on rds.....

solution is almost ready : )
