I have just purchased a 1992 Mitsubishi Shogan 2500tdi. There was no manuel suplied with the car when I bought it and now I have come upon a switch which I can not find the function of. The switch in question is situated next to the switch for the fan on the dashboard, just above the radio. It seems to be a push switch. Does anyone know what it does???

Thats the beauty of these 4x4's you find new button to play with every day!

is the button located within the fan panel?, has your beasty got fog lights?, it could be that. The Japanese love there gagets, it could be a case of trial and error!, there does not seem to be a standard for swtiches or buttons with pajs. can you post a piccy? this will make it alot clearer.

Hope this helps

Thanks but it is not the fog light switch. I will get a photo of it. Also I will strip the dashboard again and see if I can trace it anywhere again.

Hi

It might be your Bidet! - rear wash wipe. It is the only push button on my Paj.

Kind Regards

Sounds about where the air-con switch is.
Operate the switch with the engine idling.
If it is the air con it should change the ngine speed slightly as there is a circuit to raise the and stabilise the speed to counteract the extra load.
The air con - if fitted - may not work because it may require gassing but should still affect engine speed.
The switch - if it is the air con powers the magnetic clutch to engage the pump drive from the pulley (revolving by belt drive from the engine)

what you think is a switch is actually a blanking cover for models without aircon fitted
if aircon was fitted it would have a control that looks identical to the heater speed control knob

but instead of changing the heater panel so that aircon settings are not shown they fit a black blanking plug instead
