First and foremost, thanks for reading my thread. I want to say that I'm not a huge car guy, but I'm learning as much as I can. I bought my car used at 47k miles and is my first *new* car. I needed some tips/help in making my car perfect, seeing as it's going to be mine for a long time.
- Dented door. One of my friends backed up into my driver side door. Instead of it being anyone and having the insurance money fix it, he doesn't have insurance. This being the case, he is offering to fix it. What would be the best way to go about this? I have heard that getting a skin is the worst thing for it, and I should try and get it popped out. I can get pics of the damage. But it's right below the mirror, stemming about 2 feet total. Paint is chipping...its pretty bad. Do I get a skin? Pop it out? ...? advice?
- The rear suspension is starting to make major squeaking noises. I was told by the mitsubishi dealer that this was normal at the 50 k mark of the car. They said they would replace it (the best suggestion by them) for about 8 thousand dollars total. I was shocked and literally didn't know what to do. I'm sure you guys have heard this before, but what are my options because I feel like I'm getting yanked around.
- I eventually want to make upgrades on my car, but unfortunately like I mentioned at the start of my post...I'm new to the performance, upgrading car world.
this is a quick list on what I'm looking to get done, maybe you guys can throw in your $.02 in.
1. Hood, going for that evo look. I have seen lots of links for the different hoods so I think I'm good there.
2. Rims/Wheels. I don't race or anything, but would like the race look. I want to upgrade to black rims of some sort, then also I was looking into wheels with a red pinstripe on them on a different lancer forum. 16 " is the biggest you can go?
3. To change the trunk door to match the evo...like pictured above. This is possible?
4. Dirty look on brakes. I like the look of the red brakes, but I have no clue where to start with that. A friend said I could paint them...but obviously I wouldn't want to take a chance like that. Might as well just by something...
Thanks for your time, I appreciate any response!
