Your driveway is the only place where you know it will be done right, and can drink while doing it!

My question is how badly can a garage possible screw up an oil change. I mean there are only about 3 steps involved... But yeah, I agree with the beer part!!!!!!

if they dont put synthetic oil in, you would regret not doing it yourself. You are right tho, they cant screw up too much. Do it yourself and get drunk.

safest place is definetely your garage. I worked at a dealership a while back and my first day I was emptying the oil from a car I was waiting til it completely drained and I got yelled at because I was wasting time...

...they wanted it dumped quickly plugged and filled. I told em there is still lots of oil in there..they said we got a line of other cars waiting to get done still...

That means there is still a good amount of old dirty oil left in there since car was just shut off, plus you are paying for whatever amount of oil your car uses

It doesnt take long and its easy and you know for sure youve emptied it out completely. No worries about the wrong oil or brand either

I agree Jiffy Lube seems to be the most unsafe place to get an oil change.
Pep Boys sometimes run good promos and you can always look in their service bay while they do it. They seem to take their time letting the old oil out the few times I've been there.

I guess, I'll learn to trust my dealership for this oil change and other diamond care maintenance works, so as not to complicate things later especially in claiming some warranty issues.
