Just joined the forum to get some info of a problem im having, Ive got a 1994 Mitsubishi Verada V6 Automatic with automatic transmission, The problem only started happening recently, this is that the car dosnt seem to get passed 1st gear, gets to about 55kmph, which is about 35-40mph for americans, than it just revs.
I have a spare part car which is a Mitsubishi 1994 Magna, ive swaped the transmission, ECU, speed dial unit(just did that as i had a broken light in hte verada one) and I have also swaped over all the fuses.
So the Verada has a magna gearbox and stuff, but still isnt changing gears :crying: , I could go to a professional and get a check, but ive replaced the gearbox, so that the biggest thing, i just dont want to pay a fortune and find out its just some relay up behind the dash board :blush-anim-cl: .
Does anyone got any ideas???

yep download the manual http://www.lisho.net/?page_id=3 the manual has the automatic diagnostic chart and full rebuild info spec etc click on the links in my signature and do searches auto with no gears means torque converter or oil pressure problem might be a simple clogged filter make sure it is mitsubishi oil you are using cycle the gears/engine hot /put it in park/ and check the level oil should be between the two lines do a stall test on the box dont think it is electrical as both boxes have failed after replacing everything will think on it

will have a chat to some of the forum members http://www.mitsubishiclubaustralia.com/forums/http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/ pm rod-d was thinking it may be the kick down solenoid but still going the pressure side or valve box operation should be an easy fix if you have reverse and first are you sure it isnt in limp mode and actually taking off in third ? undo the battery terminals this resets the auto computer then refit the terminals
