Hey there folks! I got myself an HID kit for my Outlander. You can see the results here:

http://www.outieclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=175

B)

However, when the headlights switch is either in the parking lights or off position, I get a strobe effect (because my ballasts get only part of the electrical power needed to send to the xenon bulbs).

Now, I know that in most markets, Mitsubishi offers HIDs as an option... and so the wiring should already be in place. Does anyone know where those connectors are situated and what they look like? I would like to try and connect to that circuit instead of the original low beam circuit... that way my ballasts should only get voltage to them when the light switch is in the on position (just a theory for now though).

If I can't find this circuit, I will have to continue leaving the headlights switch to on (the lights automatically shut down anyway)... or install relays that will only switch on when en enough current goes to them. But I'd rather try and hook all this up the way it was originally meant to be...

The wiring is not in place by default. The harness which powers the HIDs is only put in with the luxury package option at time of order. To add HIDs after factory, the cost is very expensive to do properly and jerry rigging it violates your warranty. If you're interested in getting it jerry rigged, just run a search on aftermarket hid installation and you'll catch all the info about wire splitting, but I don't recommend it.

I'm not so sure about 3rd party HIDs especially ones coming from China. The best way to get HIDs is to get them as factory options. Plus when that ballast or wiring overloads for whatever reason, you void your warranty. But I guess to each his own.

it flickers due to the lower voltage being supplied to the Day time running lights. Only way to avoid this is to bypass the DRL's which no one has done successfully yet

Any product where you pay more than a 50% premium because of hippy marketing is pretty safe not to buy...

I'm curious, installing an aftermarket HID kit like what WoRkZ did without jerry rigging , does that still void the warrantee??
And does anyone know why Mitsubishi doesn't offer its HID option in Canada? Sorry if this jacks your thread but its really bugging me.

Thanks,
Jer
