Exhaust, white smoke? Pressure in rad when reving motor? Rad boiling because running water rather than 50/50 mix of antifreeze? Leaking water pump?

It doesn't take much of a hole to result in the loss of substaintial coolant. Spend some time looking for the leaks when engine is running hot and report on some of the suggestions above. Place newspaper under car and watch for drips. It can't just disapear so put your detective hat on.

I once had a renault clio that lost water gradually when the water pump began to leak. I know its a different engine but you might check it anyway. If you take the cap of the reservoir/bottle it might flow faster as it would let air flow into the top of the system.
Hope ypu find it!
