I googled the 4G69 MIVEC and a lot of upgrades came up for the Lancer that has this engine as well. Does that mean you can perform the same upgrades on the Outlander as well?

I haven't done any upgrading yet myself, but I understand that most of the engine-specific upgrades from RoadRace Motorsports will work with your 4G69. For example, the ported head, camshaft, pistons, underdrive pulley, and even the the short ram intake (which I was thinking about trying myself to start.)

But I would call them to confirm before ordering.

Ok this was my reply and after I read up on the rpw site. I noticed there is a category for "Mitsubishi Specific Vehicle Products" and the Outlander was in there this is what I got

http://www.rpw.com.au/shop/index.php?page=...emart&Itemid=40

and here is my reply via email:

"UD pulley is a direct fit fit and many other parts work with some minor
tweeks. Call us for details though. RRM"

So I guess I'll give em a call some time.

ditty,
you didn't read all the posts. i posted months ago that i bought and installed rrm's underdrive pulley and strut bar, and weapon-r's intake. all rrm's lancer mivec parts will fit the outlander perfectly, except for their header flexpipe, meaning that though their header will fit, you'll have to have a custom flexpipe to connect it to the rest of the exhaust system. the pulley made a noticeable difference in acceleration, though i have some doubts about whether it would void the warranty for undue slap stress on an undamped crankshaft. weapon-r now makes custom outlander intakes for both the old and new maf sensors, which means i should have waited to buy mine instead of having to make the older type fit my new maf. anyway, weapon-r is the only intake other than rrm's, to fit the outlander. my preference is the weapon-r, as rrm's puts the inake closer to the engine and utilizes the oem 90-degree bend at the throttle body. weapon-r's is more like a 135 degrees, a more gradual and less restrictive curve, but that's just my opinion. i'm sure rrm's is just as good, i just don't think it's better than weapon-r, but what do i know?
weapon-r also makes a cold air box to fit around their intake, and accomodates the oem intake tube, and sits right behind the battery box. it looks like a nice clean installation, and further insulates the intake from underhood engine heat.
hope this helps and eases your mind; i had the same doubts last year....like they say nowadays, 'been there, done that....'
good luck, and send some pic's when you're done....funny, i guess i should send some myself, though i did to the 'other' mitsu forum if you care to see what i did....

Thanks Expositor! I just needed assurance from someone who has actually done some work. Much appreciated! Have you done anything else to your Outty? You wouldn't happen to be on cardomain.com would you? Which forum did you post your pics at? I would like to see them.

hi ditty,

here's the link; just check for all my posts, as i forgot the thread with the pic's, maybe 'new wheels and tires'? i use the same name, based on my owning a mitsu expo, now with 260,000 stop and go miles, and only on clutch number two....i had to add that....

anyway, i have a few pic's of my gunmetal wheels, and my installation of the weapon-r intake and rrm's strut-bar. i forgot to take some pic's while installing the pulley, but that was a long story in itself....i know i left my joisey plates visible, but who really cares, right?

hope this helps, and good luck!!!
