I have a '93 3000 GT and the Tour-Sport ligh on the dash keeps jus flashing Sport, and I cannot get it to turn off. I try hitting the EPS button and nothing works. It's a little irritating, any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Could be a few things. Go round to each tower and make sure each connection is plugged in properly. Also, check the struts for any oil leakage. More than likely, your ECS (the computer that controls your suspension) has leaky caps. Pull it and check. It's in the very rear of your car behind the plastic where your lights are.

looking towards the front of the car its on the right side theres a little hatch type thing that has one screw on it that covers the computer and it has two connectors. Unhooking them will not hurt your car but will leave it in sport mode

Hi

A temporary fix for the ECS light is to pull the ground cable off the the battery and let it sit for a few minutes ( a good time to clean the posts). It worked for me but lasted only a couple weeks then the lght came back on I will be pulling the unit to check the caps

Why would you recommend a temporary fix? How about you fix your problem, THEN come back and let us know, yeah. ;)

I have the same problem with my '91. I changed the suspension and now the lights are flashing. Is there only two connectors to unhook? Is it hard to unhook? And what color are the connectors that I have to unhook? Will this procedure be safe to work on or will it lead to other problems? I'm scared of messing it up and ruining the electrical system. Thanks.

the ECS flashes it defaults to sport mode, if the light flashes or it works intermittenly its usually the wiring from the top of the struts, the fronts are usually the culprits, mechanic lean on the plastic covers and they can go brittle and break due to the heat from the engine, but its very simple to repair.

Remove the plastic covers by undoing the 3 14mm nuts on top of the suspension strut ensure the car is not jacked up, pullout the connector follow the loom to the next connector and separate, its a very short loom, remove all the loom tape and separate the wires and inspect carefully each one looking for breaks/cracks in the wires, quite often they break where they go into the connector block and if careful you can remove the connector and re-solder, I repaired mine 4 years ago and have never had a problem!

If its the same struts as before you need to check the caps for broken wires. (this is most likely the problem.)

If they check pull the connecter GENTLY!!!! and check the wire strip for cracks or tears and then GENTLY replace back into the top of the strut.

Replace the ECS computer.

Replace the switch.

Re wire the car.

So i have a 92vr4 and iv just recently been having the same problem with the tour and sport light flashing at the same time. I know all the things to do to find the problem from reading the other post but i also had a question because recently its been flashing more often and when i first start the car its fine but as i move in first and second gear my car starts to knock a little. somtimes a lot. and when i slow down the check engine light will come on until i press the gas. Is this just an electrical problem related to the tour and sport flashing or what.

anything helps.
thanks

that's unrelated. ECS issues will not trigger a CEL.

Your problem sounds possibly oil-related. hows your pressure, and do you keep up on changes?

I meant to say I experienced a strong Bucking rather than knocking. As of now i have disconnected the wires in the back to default to sport mode and will see what problems i still have. Im convinced I have an electrical problem somewhere.

I have also checked the front struts and there were no problems with the wires.
