I purchased a non-running 1991 montero 3.0l (12valve) V6. Chilton and Haynes manuals both say I should have a 5.0v pulse at 120 degree incriments and also 1 degree increments for the camshaft and crankshaft positioners. My actual distributor give these pulses at 60 degree (6 cyl ie 6 slots) and 90 degree (4 slots evenly spaced, although one slot is wider). What gives? Do I have the wrong dist or are both manuals incorrect. My dist is #T5T42371 V3 which shows up as a SNAP OE distributor for the 1991 model.

Currently have no spark at coil (new) and am attempted to troubleshoot.

I am new to the forum and hope I have asked this in the correct place.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

probably a failed ECM.
take it out and open it up. Look for leaking capacitors and/or corrosion on the circuit board due to a leaking windshield.
