technically if there r no rca's plgged into the amp, there should b no signal out of the speaker out puts. Is this a 4 channel amp? If so, are 2 of the 4 plugged in? A detailed and or pic of details would be gr8 so we can c what is going on.

if only the left is plugged in, then the right wont get any signal, and therefore you are powering the left higher. That is why the sound is perceived as being greater, although it really isn't.

carefull man, you can damage a woofer if your not careful

And are the subs on separate output channels? If you have 2 on separate channels, and you only have 1 rca plugged in, you are only firing 1 sub, this is not good, and can damage the other woofer. If this is your case, you may have your subs out of phase (meaning +/- leads are backwards). Doublecheck your wiring dude, sounds like you may have DBs to gain.

Im feeln what Josh -GTS is talking about. ecspecialy if both subs share the same air space. You may not damage the sub on the left but and possibly on the right, but if the right sub is wired backwards you are cancelling the internal standing wave. When unplugged the right woofer turns into a passive radiator. All in all do what Josh said a dbl check the wiring on the subs. In the box and out of the box.
