 Fuel Tank, any difference between Diesel and Petrol

Hi, I wondered if anybody knows the answer to this (as it might save me a lot of money)!

My L200 (2000) needs a new Petrol Tank and as I drive a 2.4 Petrol, which is not very common, I wondered if a Diesel Tank can be used instead? Apparently, a new Tank from Mitsubishi has to be ordered from Japan and costs about $1500 when I go via my local dealer in England.

There are quite a lot Tanks available second hand, but all would be Diesel.

:57: Dirk as far as I know the diesel and petrol tanks are the same, tho I think that diesel are bigger in capacity
