Noticed that around the rear view mirror there are little black dots on the windshield. I wanted to do a nice thick strip of tinting across the top of the windshield to act as a sunshield.

Is it possible to tint over these dots?
Does the tinting have to be cut around them?
Is it possible to scrape these things off?

Some Tinter will sand it off until it levels with the glass, but the risk of scratching the glass is not worth it. Some Tinter will just cut around it, but those dot matrix can be the opening for UV rays and solar energy heat to goes through the car which for me will defeats the purpose of tinting the front windshield.

My tinter just put the film over it and for 2-3 weeks, the air and water bubbles being trapped on the small dot matrix has evaporated.

Here is what it looks like with the tint there just not pressed up on to the dots. They did not cut around it. I did the windows in 20% and the strip is 3%.

Awesome, Thanks for the pics.
I'll probably do the same thing

My only fear is that the tinting may not stick well enough and begin to come lose there after not long.

that looks nice!

Darn, now I'm starting to rethink the color I wanna get mine in. I like the grey cuz it looks classy, but I like the white 2, it just has a real clean look to it

And it looks cleaner, longer too if you're a bit too busy to wash the car every other day or so.
