Had a Neon get on my back door and this guy did not have any mods that I could tell in fact it was an old a** Neon that I could not pull away from but neither could he pass so at least that was a good thing.

I know got enough mods so I shoulda been able to at least pull on this guy.

I don't know for sure if it was the 138 version or the 150 version? I'm think'n it was the 138 since it was so old paint pealing etc...

What an eye opener that was. :(

Don't know if I should save up 10 grand and trick out like the FF version (minus the turbo) pull 1/2 of my money I invested into her back in or just sell this car off for a better one next year resale on an Eclipse is a joke, I here that show cars pull in a lot more money than modded cars I dunno?

Don't get me wrong she handles like a little race car but a race car with little to no power is a bad joke! :(

What mods are you running? Regardless what model he is you're still basically running the same engine and he weighs less.
Not sure why but neon owners like t think there cars are fast. Keep the DSM and get a turbo or a bottle (or both :gunsmilie: ) and go pick on the US bigger brothers.
If it's not worth the ticket than it's not worth the gas and he still wishes he was driving your car!

Looking into sheading a lot of weight and no bottle no turbo.
Port Polish all bolt-ons will take care of pesky Neons in the near future ;)

Do you have a dependable wrench man? Porting and polishing isn't usually cheap especially for the power it'll net you. For $2,000 in parts your engine bay can look like http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/produ...9+Eclipse+Talon
You could probably install this kit for the price of parts and labor on head rebuild, port, and polish. I'm not a fan of bottles because they cause alot of carnage but if you go forced induction you'll love your car again. Forced induction on the 420a gets you similar HP to the 4G63 but alot of dyno graphs show more torque. I love my 4g63 but I'm learning to respect the chrysler little brother.
Just dont wanna see another full show car with no bite, and the only neon giving you a run should be the SRT-4.
Keep me posted and let me know what you work out.
