Ok...so heres the problem. I bought my 1996 3000GT SL about a year ago and before that i had a 96 Eclipse RS.....at the time up until this summer the car has been GREAT to me. It's fast...it's fun...and it's respected. But now i'm looking to do a single 16G turbo and i need to know if i have an LSD. i've been looking at a lot of FWD burnout videos and stuff but it's not showing me much. But when i burn out...both tires usually spin. Also i thought 96 SL drive wheel was the drivers side? well the drive wheel in mine is the passenger side and power is thrown to the drivers side to catch traction. but when i roll off the clutch, the drivers side is usually the first to catch traction and if i spin, then power is transferred and the passenger side spins. The passenger side tire is also showing more tread wear too.

If someone can explain this to me, i would REALLLLLYYYY appreciate it.

Thank you kindly..

Eric

So I'm still kind of lost with this. I put the car on the jack and torqued on the lugs on the driver and passenger side while the car was in gear. the drivers side wheel wouldn't turn while the passenger side would. Which means the driver side is the drive wheel, right? Well when I'm driving, the passenger side is the side that gets most of the power.... LSD Insert???????

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am no expert but I have read some things that basically state, that there is some sort of LSD, but nothing like you will need for a TT upgrade, and Ive also read to NOT use an insert. The consensus seems to be to get a Quaife, which is a tourque biasing differential that should hold up to the abuse. I got all of this from another board Im on www.3si.org go there and search for LSD, there is a bunch of info.

Hope this helps.
