Hey all,

I've still got my GSX... Still sitting in my garage. Got a few parts for it, and I'm still paying on it (Hasn't been running for near 2 years, and I've been paying that monthly payment on it all along!). Anyhow, I'm looking to get a new car this coming year. What would you do? Take the EvoX, right out of the gate, or take the GSX, which has tons of parts already made and tested?

I myself think that the GSX is fair competition for all Evo's, though I've never seen any real racing between the 2. Anyone have some comments between the 2? Anyone race a fellow DSM'r with either?

I am really trying to look at the odds here. I can spend the money on a NEW EvoX, or spend that money on the GSX. Any comments?

Let me know what your opinion's are. Also, if anyone is looking for a GSX in the bay area (California), there are quite a few on craigslist atm. Mine, sadly, isn't up there. But offers are accepted. ;)

i live in modesto... what's wrong with your gsx.. and how much you want for it?

After Evolution VI all the Evolution looks likes kind of ugly. Evo VII to IX is bigger and heavier. Evo X just takes the cake. no more 4G63

Since the engine was re-placed (oil filter popped off previous and tore up the bottom end). The turbo and everything wasn't tuned. The turbo (stock T25) that was on there, caught a bolt of something while running, and tore the shi* out of it.

I still owe ~$2300 on it. I've got an evo 16g turbo which is good. It hasn't been installed yet, the car hasn't run in like forever. The car will start, just needs the battery charge. Anyhow, The engine just need to be taken apart, and rebuilt by someone with KNOWLEDGE of the 4g63t and tuned.

Make an offer, if your interested.

I'll check back tomorrow, was in the air for 14 hours today on 4 different flights, I need sleep now!

it is the same for the both cars same 4G63.

so far that i kno of the evo III and the gsx only have the motors that are swapable. but id get the evo. out the gate its just better. def can get more power out of it also.

I myself would take the eclipse over the evo, the body on the eclipse is ALOT nicer :D

its the same engine no matter how much power you are pushing it, it will max out around 400hp. thats for both 4g63.



I would take the Evolution because its a monster. i would get a eclipse spyder GST as a good crusing car

Anyone ever watch "Top Gear"? They had done a show on the Evo, and did a road track run with an evo vs a Lambo. This was with the 400hp version of the Evo. It stuck with the lambo all throughout the track, and the lambo was being driven by a touring car champ, while the evo was being driven by the show's host. I love the show, but it really didn't make me want an evo.
I see tons of evo's, and everyone always has the same attitude about them. Like you just said, it's a monster, but also said they're both the same engine. So what makes you take an evo over the eclipse? The eclipse isn't a monster?

All the eclipse's I see on the freeway, on the road... I swear. I don't understand, I ALWAYS see girl's driving them. I never see any guys! I saw 1 guy driving a gst that I raced over the bay bridge while I was on my way to work at like 12am. I smoked him in my 6. Then let him catch up while I stay behind a bit of traffic. The dude was asian, first guy I see in an eclipse. All the asian's I know drive honda's. I dunno... I guess I just don't get some people. Some people think Honda's are the fastest, some people thing evo's are the best. I'll stay behind my eclipse, that's been broke down for near/over 2 years now.

I got turned onto the eclipse after the movie The Fast and the Furious.
Out of all the other cars in that movie, I got turned onto the Eclipse, not the Supra's, the S2000's, the Del Sol's, etc. And the Eclipse only raced ONCE in that movie, then blew up. Guess that wasn't hint enough for me...

Anyobdy recommend any shop's in NorCal for tuning/testing?

Don't know why, but that link you pointed out goes to the same page you gave previously, and they still doesn't work.

The Eclipse in the movie "Fast and Furious" was Blown By the chinese dude...remember? so it wasnt like it blew by itself...lol But anyway...If I was you i'll keep the eclipse...Evo's are becoming like civics..they are like roaches..Everywhere...well at least around here. But at the end what matters is how deep your pockets are.

actually, it blew because of the huge **** shot of NOS he used.

and to the girls driving eclipses. its true, every girl has one, and when i mention i have an eclipse, their like, oh thats a girl car =[

but once i take em for a ride, get on it and watch their heads snap back, they stop talking =]

Take a note, The top-end DID blow in the engine because of the 2 nos shots. It was later blown up by the asians shooting the nos.

After all, it is a movie, and it was all fake. But, I've had enough pressure in the bottom-end to force the oil filter off.

I've never had anyone mention to me that it is a girl's car, and I've got nothing against girls and racing or girls driving the eclipse alone, or any car. But I swear, I hate that every eclipse I see has a girl behind the wheel.
I even raced a 3g eclipse and later down the road came to see that IT TOO was driven by a girl.

Yeah it was a nice **** xplosion, but why didnt they blew up all the civics? why it had to be the eclipse? lol w/e its a holywood stunt. Now about the eclipse looking like a girl car...I also agree..i've never heard the 2G or 1G eclipses being girly...the girly ones are the ones they started building from 2000 and up...that's when they remodeled the entire car giving it a homo look..lol

Everything on the Evolution is 10 times better then the Eclipse. I'm asian and i have a Eclipse. Honda's are good cars only some are good like the NSX and the S2000 in my book.

Fast and Furious is a stupid movie.
