haha, well, my RS does have some get up and go, maybe not enough to snap a head back, but still enough to prove a point.

I knew someone would see it like that.
To make a note, I'm not sexist nor racist. I do believe there are many types of people in this world, and there are some women who just shouldn't be behind a wheel, let alone racing.

People will say that anyone that races on the streets is stupid and deserves to die, etc. Let me tell you this, anyone in racing today, on the track, professionally, etc, I GUARANTEE you that everyone of them has raced on the streets.

I myself will not backdown from anyone who comes up on me on the freeway. Losing doesn't mean as much as showing no fear behind the wheel. If you don't know how to drive at fast speeds, or can't control your vehicle in extreme situations, don't even try and drive on the freeway, let alone the streets.

I told my girlfriend, who we have our 9mo old son with, that I wouldn't marry her until she learned how to race, and learned howto control the car(s) she drives.

I believe that there are some people shouldn't be trying to race, let alone on the road, but face reality, the track isn't open 24/7, and there ISN'T a minute to say "take it to the track" when the next time you could have the choice to race them (if they even show up) is days, or months away.

Just my opinion(s).

Thanks!
Russ

It would be great to have any type of racing track open, anytime of the day. or pay as you lap like the infamous Nürburgring. but this is America and we don't do that kind of things.

Not all girls/ladys are like Danica Patrick, only in our dreams i guess. :blush-anim-cl:
I wouldn't let my girlfriend or wife drive like a race car driver.

Anyone can go in a straight line but it take real skill in the turns.

I live near Infineon Raceway (~30min away) and the Sacramento Raceway is also around the same ~30min away.

Going in a straight line isn't too hard, like you say. But it DOES take skill. You have to know your car, inside and out, and you need to know howto control it.
I have a Mazda 6s, and I believe in myself to control that car in any situation. Hence, why I speed and race to/from work on the freeway.
I just enjoy the thrill of speed. I am probably one of the few people on these forums that doesn't put other drivers on the road in danger.

Everyone has their own opinions, and I value yours on here!
Thanks!

well you do have the kids with the bubble civics at the track and they end up spinning like 2nd 3rd and maybe even 4th gear and damn near end up crashin into the wall so I guess they need some skill to not crash and hold the steering wheel....or if they built their car right they wouldn't have that problem...oh well

SeMi380:
The problem there is, near every part they have on their honda's are bolt-ons. You don't need much experience to read the installation manual and turn a few bolts, Do you?

Again, you have to know how to DRIVE your car. I myself have a problem with pushing cars to the limit and seeing how I can handle them. The 6s I got, I found out the 120mph cutoff in like the 2nd or 3rd day. I have set the cruise control @ 120mph quite a few times ;) heheh

And don't take this wrong, i'm not trying to tell people reading this to go out and speed on the freeway or streets, OR to NOT race on the track. I would race on the track myself, because that's where the REAL competition is. I am the kind of person who won't just take my stock 6s to the track to see what it can do. I'm not going to waste the other people's time out there to see what I can do on the 1/4 mile with that, or how it will handle around the turns. I've got the freeway for that. :)

Needless to say, BE A SAFE and RESPECTABLE driver when your out on the streets and freeway! Want real competition? Go to the track.

Thanks for reading all!

well hooking up a honda (at least in jersey) means just swapping the engine to either a b16 or the new k20 from the 06+ civic si's and droppin in like normal mods like intake exhaust headers and then doin the cam gears....and having your car break down at least once a week....my cousin's like real into honda's he's had at least like 20 of them already no exxageration so he taught me about them but I just don't like them because they're everywhere and they're all ugly except for some integras

"The borrower is always slave to the lender" so rebuild reinforce what you have and keep the money you were gonna spend on the Evo for an emergency is one idea, screw intrest the bank's only gonna rip you off.
The money you save you could rebuild the eclipse 3-4 times and you'll still have a better looking car and just as fast if not faster than a new Evo.

Do you really wanna be like the Jones? Psst!!! Word is they're really broke and half the stuff they got they got on credit and well Mr. Jones just lost his job and Mrs. Jones took the dog the cat the goldfish and left and now Mr. Jones stays drunk 24-7 but you did'nt hear it from me. ;)

Now if ya gotta be a big ol baby about it rebuild reinforce to the max and sell it for the max 13-15 grand and then buy the Evo.

You got a lot of time to turn things around you just gotta take ya time ya been that way for 2 years 1 more ain't gonna kill ya.

thats nice that you live not too far from those tracks. for me its like a 1hr drive to California speed way. and i have too look up for there track days to race.

front wheel cars and awd cars are the most for giving cars out there. if you want to really learn how to dive get yourself a AP1 that thing will bite back if you don't know what you are doing.

I know it was an off the cuff joke but the eclipse in the movie had a 420a not a 4g63t so don't worry the moter you have will be fine with a little tender love and care.
And even though your eclipse has been down for some time you are still light years ahead of most guys so don't throw the baby out with the bath water ;)

The nitrous bottles were empty... there for no explosion.. ha oh and the directors kid stopped talking to him for about a month for blowing up the Eclipse.

Forget the evo and eclipse on this one... Buy an 2004 STi, bigger motor, same idea more power capability. Plus they aren't all over the place like the EVO's
