Hello everyone. I'm looking for some advice. I have an '01 Montero with an OME lift (medium duty springs in front and heavy duty springs in rear). I've talked to OME over the phone and they say this combo should provide a perfectly acceptable ride. I agree that it's awesome at absorbing bumps off road, but the body roll I'm experiencing at higher speeds is downright scary. I drive on road 95% of the time with lots of twisty backroads. Also, I often have a full car of people (which is the reason for the stiffer rear springs).

So, what can I do? I'd really like to find some stiffer sway bars to help handling on the road. I don't really care about the off-road articulation trade offs. I've heard the new 2008 Montero's have stiffer sway bars, but they aren't being sold in the US right? Think it would be possible to get a hold of these through a dealer? Anyone have any experience with custom sway bars?

The only other option I can think of is an adjustable shock absorber set up. Something I can dial in to my liking. Is there such a thing available for the Montero and would it really make a difference?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have the OME med duty set up all the way around and don't really notice anymore body roll than with the stock suspension. I do feel that the ride has improved on and especially off road. Have you also changed the tires to fill in some of the gap? If so maybe the increase of side walls are effecting your cornering characteristics.
