Ive got a 97 spder, and it says to hold down the button till it flashes, and then hold your remote control for the garage door about an inch away, and push the button till it flashes at you...i couldnt get it to work though

if it has the tree buttons together, you have to hold down the two outer buttons to clear any programing that may have already be used. then, hold down the button you want to program to open your garage until it starts to flash, and then press and hold the actual garage door opener near each other (hold down both buttons). about and inch apart. the light should be flashing, when the flash pattern changes your buttons are programed. congratulations! if you followed instructions correctly (and your programing procedure is the same as mine) you have just programed your built-in garage door opener.

ADVICE: i have to hold the button down for a few seconds(5-10) before my garage will open. i also cannot be too far away (20-30 ft.)

it should work, i have a 99 gs (not a spyder though). hope i was helpful

Would it be possible to program some of the features of my after-market alarm to the visor controls? For instance, use one of the visor controls to disarm my alarm in case my battery goes dead in my alarm fob instead of using it for my garage door. Has anybody tried this?
