Someone was taking over payments of my 2004 Outlander and tried to install an aftermarket stereo. Needless to say, he cut the 6 Pin Din and 4 pin plug to try to connect the other stereo and did a shabby job at it. I'm trying to reinstall my infinity and, even though I have the wiring connected color for color, I'm having some issues.
1. sometimes extra noise which leads me to believe the chassis ground isn't working too well
2. Problems with fader and balance controls, especially concerning the right side and the rear speakers. Acts like my wires are not connected well.
So I have questions? The 6 pin Din has black rubber with silver cabling insulation inside. That has an orange wire in it, then within that insulation and beside the orange wire, is another covering with 5 colored wires and some bare copper wiring in it. So, does anyone know what each of the colored wires within the 6 pin din are for? There is orange, by itself, then black, white, green, yellow, and blue as well as bare copper wire ? I'm trying to figure out where my problems lie and which connections to dig deeper into since I can not find the factory DIN to AMP harness anywhere.
Any ideas? and thanks in advance. My next thought is a junkyard with a stereo of the same kind.
