for the 3rd gen at least, it realy depends on what you plan on doing with it..

if you plan on going turbo or some sort of FI, you should go with the 4 cyl (RS/GS). this is because the internals of the V6 (GT/GTS) cant hold up to much boost.

but if your planning on keeping the car stock, or just doing some basic upgraces (intake, exhaust, etc) then i would reccomend the GT/GTS, solely for the fact that it has more power from the factory..

also keep in mind that the V6 has to take premium, so if gas prices make you mad.. haha well.. you know

also, dont make the mistake i made, GET THE 5SPD

yeah thats what i was tellin my self and some of my friends.. i want the 6cyl cause of the horsepower but the eng would need to get rebuild if i got turbo for it so im thinkin the 4cyl 5spd

Is yours auto?

unfortunatly yes mine is an auto, i do have the sportronic tho, which is a little better... its just that a manual, in my opinion is more fun to drive, and you have more control over the car.. so if i was ever going to do things over, or buy another car for that matter, i would make sure it was a stick

If you get a 4cyl make sure you get the turbo asap. otherwise it'd just be way to slow. But great on gas mileage

I've got a 2000 GS manual. I would recommend a manual transmission just because it's more fun. Also if you're going to get a GS or GT check to make sure the sunroof opens and closes. 3g has had a problem with the sunroof, also check to see if it's not leaking unto the floor. Well it's really your choice as to if you want a 6cyl or 4cyl. 4Cyl can take more boost compared to the 6Cyl as posted before. Hope this helps.
