:banana: hi guys im new to this forum i have been looking at the topics on engine swaps. i have just purchased a clapped out 84 L300 4x4 with a 4G62 engine and a 5 speed gearbox.
What im after is your opinions on what is the best engine to replace it with.
More power is always good but i dont need to have modern technology but im open to any ideas the least hassell as far as the swap goes the better.

the car is going to be a long term project so the car is off the road indefinately.
im an auto sparkie and a vehicle restorer by trade so i should be able to sort most things out .
look forward to hearing from you guys about anything of interest.

You said you had a look through some of the other topics probably noticed some of the probs we have had my problem at the momet with my engine swap from 2litre to 2.6litre was the sump & now I cannot locate a gearbox mount. I will go into some more detail on what I have come across very soon.
