Hi , my husband has a Charisma 1.8 GDI Elegance 2001 and the engine managment light came on and then the car stopped. He was towed to a garage where they put a machine on to see what was up, it came up with the following code 92 - ETV-MTR-FB, which the garage bloke had never seen before. We have rung up the nearest Mitsubishi dealership and they wont divulge what this code means. Has anyone got any ideas please? We havnt got much money and really dont want to have to pay to have the car towed to the nearest dealership and be landed with a bill of hundreds which we cant afford to pay. Thanks for any help.

electroninc throttle valve or more commonly your throttle body unit.best place to start is to see if the butterfly valve still moves at all.if it does it may be worth removing to clean and refit(after erasing the fault code.if the butterfly valve is siezes it could mean the magnetic portion of the throttle body has quite which means a new unit.they can be very expensive to replace new as I believe they are a dealer only item but you may wish to search the net for used ones.depending on the diagnostic unit your garage is using thewy may be able to do an actuator test on the unit to make it open and close.pm me if you need further help/info.good luck
