This is probably a Noob question, but does the 08 Lancer have an LSD? That is, if the front wheels start to spin is it only one wheel that looses traction or both wheels. And if the Lancer doesn't have an LSD, can one be fitted from, say, the evo?

It doesn't have an LSD. I doubt that you can get that installed. Ask at a dealership see what they say.

if he asks the dealer, they will laugh. That is a complete rebuild of the front end. No point in doing that. it would cost half the price of the car.

Are there any FWD cars with LSD? I've never heard of LSD in anything but AWD or RWD.

You will have to wait for the new evo to come out that has the same chasis as our lancer. The front LSD may fit our car. Or at the least the new evo will create enough buzz so that someone makes one for our car.

My suggestion is to save up and trade your lancer for and evo. Turbo, lsd, fuel injectors, pistons and every part you can imagine will be needed. After all of that it will still not be all wheel drive. Don't go down that road my friend.

not really. you can stick one in there pretty easily and they arent overly expensive either. You'd be looking at around $1500 for a decent LSD once they release one for the car. Shouldnt be too long before something is available. They are a pretty standard upgrade to put on a FWD car that you plan to race. Great upgrade for both drag strip and circuit. Be pretty safe if you put $2000 aside to include labour costs. Shouldnt be that much though. They are $AUD prices btw.. shuld be about $1500-1800 USD with installation with a quick currency conversion. Doesnt look like its even close to half the price of the car. Im sure you could find somewhere near by that deals with Cusco or Quafie LSD's.

Speaking of the slip, or torque steer or whatever you might want to call it. I've been noticing a significan improvement now that the car is at around 10,000 Km. Also putting more air in the tires seemed to also have some effect on the ammount of "pulling".

Yes, I know the car didn't magically install an LSD, but it acts a little better than when it was brand new.
