I'm thinking of buying a 2002 Carisma Mirage (diesel). It seems like a very good car apart from 1 problem, from standstill and after each gear change its very unresponsive for a second or 2, then slowly picks up speed, could it be the EGR valve?
I'd be grateful for any ideas.

are the engine revs quite high aswell?
it could be the clutch starting to wear out.
