Hi

Does anyone know how to reset the service indicator without special instruments?

I have the Volkswagen 2 liter diesel engine and manual 6-speed.

Hi vegas65

My owners manual instructs how to do this. It on page 3-145_3-146. This is for the 3l v-6 so yours may not be the same. I can provide detailed info if required.

OK here goes.

The ignition switch must be in the off position.
Press the info switch to get to the service reminder display.
Press and hold the switch for 2 seconds or more to display flashing wrench.
With this flashing, lightly press the info switch, the screen should switch from"---"
to "clear" and then to the time until next inspection.

I have not tried this myself, just reading from the manual.
Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions!

Service reminder reset after periodic maintenance.
If a customer brings his car in for periodic maintenance the service reminder has to be reset

Reset the reminder by the info button on the dashboard.
a, Ignition off, push info button several times until the service indicator comes on,
b. Push the button until the spanner begins to blink
c. Push once again short, the text CLEAR will show.

Same info, has to be right
