could possably be the clutch release bearing.generally the noise will be present when idling wether in or out of gear and will go away when pedal in pressed partially.it can be tough to diagnose as the transmission also stops turning when the pedal is pressed.I would try in neutral first as the bos should not be turning as much

what sort of noise would it make,i can here the noise when pressing down
then up on the clutch no noise till pedal gets near bottom and then on its
way back up it,s there for the 1st few inches then it go,s.
another point worth mentioning i do remember over the week end it giving

sounds like you may have a bearing going internally in the gearbox.not fun as I had a bearing blow up on mine causing me to require a replacement unit.have it checked properly at your local garage as it can be expensive to repair.mine is the 1.9td and a replacement used box was £200.If I had not blown a hole in mine it could have been reconditioned for about £400.one last thought is to try pushing the pedal down about 1/2-3/4 and waiting for a 5count before pushing to the floor.this should allow enough wind down time internally in the gearbox to not have anything moving when pushed all the way to the floor.if this cures your noise when testing it is an internal fault.
