I had my mechanic tell me today that my alernator is self grounded. Can anyone here confirm that? I replaced my last one and the positive cable hookup burned to hell within a week. The connection to the positive was loose and I thought it might have cause it to burn out, but I've heard it might be a grounding issue. When I took out the old alternator, I didn't notice a ground coming from the alt ... So I had it replaced by this mechanic and he said I do not need one.

Oh... And hello to everyone. I usually frequent another mitsubishi forum, but it has been quite dead there lately. I've owned my car for two years and loving it. All help is appreciated.
