you probably had 7 car lengths because they saw the cop. easy to win a race when your the only one in it! but good let off either way.

wife got pulled over on the drive to montana and she blamed it on me because she couldn't catch me and i had the GPS. so he let her ride.

My cousin was telling me a story about how his friend was doing 100 km/h over the speed limit and when the cop pulled him over and came up to his window, he handed him a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE card from a MONOPOLY game, the officer just laughed got back in his car and drove away. It was the funniest thing i have ever heard

haha one of the biggest cultural differances that i noticed about the US and Bosniais that when you get pulled over by the cops in bosnia, and most of eastern europe. 90% of the time in you could give the cop a "tip" and he will let you off without a ticket. usually like the equivalent of 10 bucks

and a while ago idk if they still do this, but in serbia if the cops are waiting for speeders to drive by, they will just hold up a stop sign, and if you dont stop and are going like over 100 they wont even bother chasing you

my only ticket i got in OR and i was headed home for the weekend and its a 13 hour drive from base to my parents house. so i was about half way there and i get pulled over and the cop says i was clocked at 85 / 50. what is a ******* lie cuase i had cc on and it was set at 60. s othen he takes my license and sees that it say im in the millitary and asked where i was headd, i told him i was deploying soon and was headed home for one last vist, so because hes such a " nice guy" hes cuts me break. by wirting the ticket for only doing 70 / 50. that way the fine is cheaper. so i get my ticket and he says thanks for what u do, to which i reply no sir thanks for taking time out of your day to stop and thank me.

Heres a good one, right after i got my 3 in exhaust done. its 120 in the morn, and im taking a girl home and she has a 130 curfew. So im approaching a light where im turning right on, and it turns yellow. Just for shits and giggles, i dropped it in second and powered through the turn exitng around 50 + in a 35 zone. I pulled into her appartment living area and literally as i waved past the guard to the area.... lights flicked on behind me. I knew he couldn't touch me bc he couldn't have had a radar on me and i didn't burn out or anything. Got off :D

one week later i got tagged for 66 in an unmarked 45. I would fight it but it was in KY when i was picking my sis up from the airport and i just moved into Miami U @ oxford. Fking $180.... pisses me off...

That's awesome, gotta love when they can't really get you for anything...

My worst ticket was 93 in a 65, on the freeway outside of Portland, 3 months after I started driving...in my dad's PT Cruiser. It was 4th of July and I was in a hurry to meet up with my girlfriend of the time, everyone was going 85, so I went to pass a semi, and got tagged. 427$ ticket.

I actually have never been let off, I don't know why, maybe I don't have the right attitude, the whole joking around the entire time probably doesn't get me very far, don't look remorseful or anything =P.

i got a couple. i was 18 years old, just recently got my "real" drivers license and i was on my way to work. i was in my moms 93 ford taurus POS and going around 105 n a 65 zone...i come around a turnand theres the HI PO...i was like shit. so he pulls me over and he says "i clocked you at 93 in a 65" i just started to grin lol. i told him i was late for work and it just so happens that my work gives a 15% discount to highway patrol guys, so i got off with a warning.

another one was when i was driving from missouri to maryland when i was home on leave from korea. i was going i think 87 in a 60...cop told me thanks for being an airman and not much else...just kinda walked away...lol

i did get popped goin 82 in a 60 about a month ago, he didnt let me off just bumped it down to 79 in a 6 so i didnt get a wreckless driving charge and lose my license

About years ago, I was out in the middle of nowhere i Wyoming going to see my parents.
So I'm doing about 75 in a 65, on this long 20 mile straight, I haven't even seen another car in maybe an hour, let alone a cop, so I figure, "What the hell?" and floor it.
I got up to 118 (1G, 1.8, manual), lovn every minute of it. I look up ahead, and there is a car comig the other way. I figure, I am screwed nomatter what, so I don't een try slowing dowqn and just keep it floored.
Wouldn't you frickn beliee, it was a damn cop!
He sees me coming, and as we pass, he starts pointing DOWN (as in, slow down) so I do.
He kept going, and i slowed to about 70, and he never came after me. He had me, red handed, and let me go. Coolest cop in the world.

in KY where i live, every cop speeds like a maniac, ive literally been going 10 over and had a cop go around me because i was going too slow for him. the cops around here really like to park their cars in the middle of a double yellow road with fairly slow traffic, and when people pull around them after about 10 minutes of standing still, they flip their lights on and get em. and they hide a lot even though its technically illegal (i dont really mind) but ill pass a fence or a house and behind it will sit a cop.
the speeding thing isnt an issue around here, but id have to say the best let-off was in another state when i just pushed in the clutch when i was going downhill, and it was steeper then i thought, so i picked up to about 90, and about halfway down i saw a cop veer onto the road after me. luckily, the car behind me was doing the exact same speed as me, and passed the cop as he was pulling out, so the cop stopped him instead of me. not technically a let-off, but it had me nervous.

Considering i rarely open my car up on the roads (i auto-x for that), it was 1:30 am, no1 around, didn't break tracktion and i kept it under a safe braking speed... Im gonna have to say I wasn't driving like an ass.

On august 27th, I was driving home from Orlando to Miami from my Disney vacation. I was on the turnpike doing 90 (there was almost nobody on the road, so I had cruise control on).

A highway patrol see's me and pulls me over (first time I've been pulled over too), told me he radar-ed me and I was going over the speed limit. I said I was sorry and it wouldn't happen again. He walked back to his car as I sat there for about 15 minutes wondering what the hell was going on.

He comes back with a paper for me to sign and it's a $206 dollar ticket. I did my best to not hesitate or say anything to not get into any trouble and signed it. He gave me no breaks or anything from what I've heard from friends and posts from here. (my friend got caught speeding over 100 in a 40 mile zone and was let off with a warning..)

Record WAS 100% clean, and now to keep it clean I have to pay for traffic school which is an additional $50 to keep the points off my license and keep my insurance the same. =/

Now im fucking pissed. Got ticketed for "failure to yield to an emergancy vehicle" in indiana, and it wasn't even my car. Apparently its against the law in indiana to pass a cop if he pulled someone over in the right lane. i didn't even think about it. I just saw a cop, past him, 2 mins later... sirens and lights. that cop must have had stick up his ass. he said i was going 6-10 over mind you i was in the slow lane with ppl passing me all day. So he said he was gonna give me a warning on the speed and ticket me for failure to yield. WTF. And the best part is the ticket states that i can't send in a personal check. Oh and my bank acct is suspended due to potential identity theft, so i can't wire transfer.

F$CK YOU INDIANA!

just got my best (and first) let off. i was p!ssed off because the people in front of me were goin slow one of them finally turned ao i droped 3rd and punched it and who ever was behind stayed glued to my a$$ then i got the lights ( oh $hit!) pulls me over and says "I understand that ur gettin frustrated with traffic but in the time i've been behind you you've made four lane changes and hit 92 MPH (in a 60) so you need to slow it down" all the way home i was goin "thank you jesus, thank you jesus".
