this should be interesting. post your worst speeding tickets and the most supprized you were at a let off, stories are nice too.....

worst, 103mph in a 65mph speed zone
late for wrestling weigh ins and if you don't make weigh ins you don't wrestle.
oh yeah, a 1988 subaru legacy.

best let off, i'd say its a tie, 95 in a 60.
-late for practice and cop was a wrestler so he "connected" with me and told me to get going.
-just watched Texas chainsaw for first time (i was like 16) with girlfriend and she lived in the boondocks. trying to get home when i get tailgated by some dude! it was 12pm so it kinda scared me so i gassed it, he just stayed right on my **** so i kept going faster. total, (75 in a 60, 65 in a 50, ran stop sign, and 47 in a 35) when he finaly turned on his lights i was pissed. who does that, especially late at night. so i told him i was late getting home from my g/f's house and he said i understand, just leave earlier next time!

ha, they should hit you at your first infraction, not try to pile them up on your. if i'd have know it was a cop, i'd have nailed my brakes and if he hit me or even pulled me over i'd could just say it was a dear in the road. (really really common in western montana)

That is actually illegal for a police officer to do. They cannot do multiple infractions if they could have stopped you on the first one. The reason being that by disobeying the traffic laws, you are technically a criminal. That's like letting a rapist or murder do their thing 3 or 4 times before arresting him, hence the reason for the law.

many cops around here dont let anything slip even some will ticket you for going 5 miles over.but like they say bracking the law is breacking the law even by little.i got real lucky that time and may of have lost my license but i'm glad i did not.cleared all my points now and not about to start over.

ha.
got caught dragging my friend in his camaro.
got written up for "unsafe start" (chirping tires) and 55/40. could have written me up for dragging wich is waaaayy worse.

i had 2 12" eclipse subs. was bumping pretty loud.
got pulled over but let off because the cop literally just got back in his car from a previous ticket. worst part? parents were following me to my uncle's house.

.. not so happy.

**** man, seems cops over there are pretty ok bar the tailgaters.

most of them here (NZ) are shitty and complete asswholes.

Tho there was one officer who let me go real easy. was doing a about 70kph in 50 area. had increased speed to get through lights, as it is real difficult to get in a right turn without them, and had an international driver as my supervisor who was also under 20 as i was on a restricted license. (In NZ, if you are on restricted license and taking passengers, you need a NZ Licensed driver over 20 years who has had a license for 2 years). I was looking at 1g of fines, but he let me off with 30 bucks (the usual minimum is $80). Respect has been there since that day.

worst ticket i got was 110 in a 55, had my girlfriend in the car with me. I saw the cop and pulled over before he even put his lights on(thinking he would be a little nicer about the situation) not so I got to go straight to jail and had to sit all weekend until monday lost the license got a huge ticket and had to pay the huge hike in insurance
I was in a 99 camaro the we had just dropped a ls1 engine tranny and drive train in. so i should have been going alot faster lucky I wasnt might not have ever gotten out of jail....ha ha ha

121 in a 65. It cost me a few thousand dollars in legal fees and other crap. Luckily I wasn't in my state so it didn't go towards my actual license. I lost it there for a while, which made my community service hard to do.

As for let off stories... I'm glad that the one cop who pulled me over after I left a club and made a bit of tire noise let me go because he saw that it would take my license.

And I will never buy another red car for the rest of my life.

I haven't had any really good let off stories in the 3000GT just yet.

Yeah, i forgot to mention my BEST best letoff. I was pulled over by a cop in town that I literally knew all my life. I was doing somehting like 75 in a 50 zone and when asked why iwas going so fast I said "I was watching the road, not the speedo."

"Well, OK, but don't let it happen again and keep an eye on that thing." SCORE!

ha, once i got let off leaving my high school with a car full of friends. i was going 35 in a 20 and rolled through the stop sign. as he flips on his lights we all rush for our seat belts. i din't know the cop but he knew me (i later found out i coached his son in little guy wrestling) so my bro in the passenger seat knows the cop though. as he walkes up he leans in the window and looks around and says "everyone get their seatbelts on alright" were all like, ummm yeah. he said. "slow it down, stop for stop signs and put your belts on before i pull you over." as my bro realizes were getting a warning he asks the cop, "you just didn't want to do the paperwork hu?" so the cop comes back with, "is that alcohol i smell on your breath." it was pretty funny.......moral, know your cops, get less tickets.

I once got a delay of traffic ticket for doing 61 in a 50. :57:

And when I first got the 3000 I was being pulled over atleast once, and on more than one occasion twice a day. I didn't have my plates and still had the temp tag, for a month, I had the temp in my rear window which was tinted so they couldn't see it. So one day I had my Mom in the car, and I got pulled over, and I had been just complaining about all the harassment.

So the two troopers walk up and the usual license registration blah well he walks back to his car comes back and starts saying how I really need to get the plates and that im running out of time and that I should stop procrastinating (The title was missing a signature from the previous owner who lived in Alabama, I live in Jersey, So I was having trouble even registering it.) AND out of no where my mother flips out.

"Who do you think you are!? Do you really have nothing better to do than harass my son just because he has a nicer car than you do, He's done nothing wrong!"

"Maam, you are going to have to calm down"

"No! You need to stop harassing my son and get a life!"

"Well. Mam' we will once he has plates on his car"

"Well you know he has a temporary tag" picks up phone and begins dialing, "So you can leave him the f#%k alone!"

"Step out of the vehicle"

"It's your God Damn Boss you can talk to him" hands the phone over."

5 minutes later.

"your good to go sir, heres your phone back."

Good to know the brass.
