I have a 1993 Galant S, at first when I accelerated the car ran really rough in 1st and 2nd gears and smooths out the rest of the time, then one day i was fixin to go home and i couldnt get the car to move at all but reverse, please help, ive called every where and the cheapest used tranny i can find is $810 and i dont have those kind of funds. I need a possible diagnosis where i can find the parts (if possible)

Hello. I don't know if you fixed the problem by now. I had the 1.8 gls 1990 model in the past with similar problem. It wouldn't take the reverse and jumped out of 5th gear many times. I got a second hand gear box from the scrapyard for around £75, paid £150 to fit it and solved my problems (total around $450). Another option is reconditioning which could cost you a bit more money.
