I'm just trying to figure out what my problem is. When I try to turn the knob to heat, it won't go all the way. It's like the door that switches from A/C to heat gets stuck.

I have read about two fixes and am not sure which one is right.

Do I replace the HVAC Control panel?

Or

Do I replace the Linkage Kit and Heater Blend?

See attached TSB for the repair. Basically, you will have to replace the Linkage Kit and Heater Blend.

[SIZE=7] My friend figured it out for me.....it was just the cable in mine.

Basically, when the dial gets turned too quickly or rapidly the cable will tork causing your heat/coolent to stay on hot or cold not allowing you to adjust the temp. Take a look at the Temp. gage though, if it stays on cold then you need to replace the thermostat.

again---the problem with mine was just the cable itself....costs around $20.00 or less. it's a do it yourself job, really easy to fix.

Thanks for all the help and advice people!!!

Hey Meg,

I know you are saying that the knob "issue" was easy to fix for you. Can you tell me what cable you needed to replace. I am going to buy it but I don't know enough about the part.

I just called the dealer to replace the Heater Blend Door Kit, and they quoted me $400-$1000!!!! I sure hope the cable you speak of will help my siutation!!
