hey whats up im new to this and to forums all together so any help will be appreciated. i bought my outlander in march and i've been loving just about everything about it. one problem that im having is when i have ppl in my car for long trips i can play movies for them to watch , only hear which takes the fun out of having a dvd player in your new car. i was wondering if anyone had any clue as to how to over ride this problem. pictures would be very helpful too.
so if you guys can help , it keeps the niece quite during the ride too which makes it easier to drive in peace. thnx

Angel

For safety man!!
There must be a signal from neutral/park position switch. Find that wire. Cut it. Drive and see. If the video comes... fine! If not, ground the cut wire going to the unit.
Now drive at 170 and have fun!
You will soon realize air bags, stability control, ABS,... all become meaningless...s

This has been an ongoing question I have seen a number of times on the forum. First off its not disabled when the car goes into drive its disabled when the car exceeds 4mphs. The speed is determined by the nav system. Since we all know the nav system is useless in our home areas (since in theory you know where you are going) you can put a toggle switch on the gps antana. Disable the antana and your dvd playing will work when driving since the car thinks its not moving. Note doing this does effect the gas consumption readings and things of that nature because the system thinks your consuming gas when the car is not in motion.
