It just started doing this yesterday. I have no real idea whats going on other than I thikn it could be a ignitor or coil, as it seems to be an electrical problem.

When cold it runs fine. Once warmed up the idle jumps up to 2krpm, and when trying to cruise or accelerate it will go a bit past 2krpm then cut out and then the tach falls back to 2krpm, the power comes on again for a second. It seems to cruise fine at 2k or less.

Any ideas?

since I have no idea how to check codes I just went around unplugging things. Luckily I had a spare top end off a 90 2.4 so I had a coil and ignitor to test out. That wasnt the problem. I then unplugged the tps and the whol issue went away. No idea if it's the tps or the iscv, but it runs fine now so I dont really care lol. I notice the tps from a 87 2.4 efi and a 90 2.4 efi are different.
