How about everyone tries this link out. It is edmunds.com

http://www.edmunds.com/finder/make.mitsubi...make=Mitsubishi

Put in the year of the Lancer that your planning on buying. Add the color, options & your zip code & it will tell you what the car lists for, the price everyone else is paying for it & the invoice.

Knowing this little bit should help you get a better price.

I ended up paying $22K out the door for mine. I know if I beat them up a little, I could have gotten a better price.....especially since I was paying cash for it.....but I was fine with the price I got. I needed the car that day & NOBODY had another one like it around. I knew it, & they knew it....but all in all....I am happy.

From the sale of my old vehicle to another family member.....I had $15K to go towards the car anyway....so my little Lancer only really cost me $7K.
Money well spent....chipping painty & all.

Plus they threw in mud flaps....2 free oil changes & a complete detail....which I just told them to forget about...I traded them the detail job for some sill guards...pics coming soon.

I just put a deposit down on my new Lancer today. Dealer said a few days, I'm expecting at least a week, but maybe I'll get lucky. Details:

'09 Lancer GTS
Octane Blue Pearl
Manual Tranny
Sun & Sound Pkg.

Price before taxes and all that junk: $20k Flat.

I can't wait to take delivery.... :57:

ANNNNNDDD hopefully ill be able to talk the dealer down on the price :D.

This was my first car... and on top of that my first manual. Yea i have driven dirt bikes and 4 wheelers that were manual (kinda helped for timing gas and letting out clutch) but this car is very simple to learn how to do clutch. Doesn't take much gas to get going and letting out the clutch is easy and it doesnt have much resistance like my Step Bro's Cobalt or a Honda Civic. This car is much looser and feels better. Im sure you could drive this car first day on the road in manual. Its mostly going from park to moving that will get you, when learning how to drive manual. But if you give gas and get the rpms to around 1-2k or something in that range and then slowly let the clutch out to feel the car "catch" and start to go forward you will start to move and then you can let the clutch out. Don't drop the clutch and then give it alot of gas.. You will spin tires.. Just go easy with it and smooth and once you start going. Its a no brainer from there to shift up and down. With this car and any manual... Hills are you worst enemy. Try and stay away from them when you are new at manual or just dont feel confident you can make it up from a stopped position. I almost rolled back into someone because i was a steep hill and because they stopped right on my *** which also makes you stress and think you wont make it then you hesitate and mess up or stall or something. I'd say go to dealership and have the salesman take you to a place to learn clutch if you know you are going to get that car or something.

Hey, i just went through the 8 pages on this thread and didn't really find many canadian lancer owners posting the prices that they got. I'm planning on getting a 09 CVT GT Lancer was wondering what deals you guys have gotten.

Hello all! New to the forum. Thanks for all the info, helped a lot in making my purchase decision. Just drove it off the lot last night. This thread helped a lot with the new purchase, so thought I'd throw my info up.

I got an 09 GTS manual, tarmac black with sun & sound. Paid $19,244 + tax/title = $20,743 no trade, $4000 down. Also got a $500 gas certificate and every other oil change free for as long as I own the car. Sounds like there are a few better prices on this thread, but I felt that was the best I was going to get from the dealerships in my area. Had to work for it; walked out my first visit when they barely budged on price, got other dealerships to compete on giving me the best price till I couldn't go any further.

One piece of advice a friend offered to me was wait till the end of the month. Dealers have to meet quotas and are more willing to deal towards the months end when they are trying to hit their numbers. Hope it helps!

Bought my 08 Lancer ES with CVT, Navi, rear Lip spolier and technology package for $18,200(I think). I was up there comparing a Subaru Legacy to the Lancer GTS a few weeks before. Salesman emailed me and told me that If I bought he would make it worth my while. So I went up there and there were no GTS's. This was the only car that had the navi. I supposedly bought it for $800 less than what they paid for it and it was $2,000 off sticker price. If they sold one more Lancer and one more SUV they would get a discount from Mitsuishi on the other cars they bought. So I was torn between getting a good deal or waiting to get the GTS, I miss the paddle shifters and 650 watt stereo and was in the GTS I test drove.

Hello there. I'm obviously new to this site, and I'm trying to research a decent price for a Lancer, '09 model.

I recently visited a Mitsu dealer, and test drove an '09 Lancer, red.
Is the sticker price something I am just going to have to pay, or should there be some room to at least bring it down about 2k? I'm only getting 1500.00 for my trade in, and that's "site unseen", so I am fortunate in that. I've seen a lot of +/- 20k prices in this thread, and I've been recently quote something similar for an ES with sun/sound package.

I'm new to buying new cars, so any advice would be really helpful. I live in SC btw. I'm about 1 hour east of Augusta, GA.

I'm going to be calling a few dealerships today and trying to get a GTS (CVT) with sun/sound, and a few other options, down to 20k even, with trade-in att 18.5 or 19, and I'll be happy.

didnt have time to read the whole thread but im in Portland, OR

Bought my '08 GTS CVT, sun & Sound Nav & Tech packages for 21,700 add DMV fees (no sales tax) and Gap insurance plus my $500 down payment and I walked out the door paying $22,000

My insurance company has a deal going where participating dealerships have to sell you a car on their lot for no more than $300 over dealer invoice.

Im sure there were better deals out there, but for a car in high demand I think I got a good deal.

I purchased my 09 GTS with sun and sound, Nav. Sticker was $23650 and got em down to $21000. On top of that, they also gave me $1000 more on my trade in then any other place, including carmax.
