hi

i have a mitsubishi chariot 1991 2.0 auto the check engine light is on and has been on since i bought it about 2 weeks ago but whats strange is theres another light what comes on only when the temprture is about half way like if ive been parked up for a while with engine ticking over but only comes on when i touch the accelerater then goes off when i take my foot off its hard to expain the warning light it looks like a small sqaure box with what looks like to be 2 pipes coming from each side above the sqaure box little waves above it like heat waves ive searched everywhere on the net but cant find nothing hope some 1 can help

if its to the right of the engine management light. it is the low headlight washer low level light. if what you call the two pipes are on the right hand side of the square thats is it

were in relation is the light as you look at the dash. have my handbook infront of me the only other symbol like that is the water in fuel diseal one

the light is at the right of the check engine warning light its a chariot import 1991 2.0 petrol auto on the boot has the badges mx and mmc

my handbook covers all models and is written in Japanese this is the warning light to the right of the engine warning light in all case.

SOunds like maybe your sensor in your exhasut may be faulty, as that may be your Exaust those 2 pipes represent, hmm. Try get it checked or look through your user manuel, if its in english.

hope this helps... had the same problem with my honda odyssey 1st gen (jdm). what i did was clean the egr valve and it's path ways and the pipe-like lamp with the waves crossed in it was gone.
