Hello guys!!!
Yesterday I got my Outlander Turbo with new exhaust. 70mm pipe on full length from turbo to end muffler. 1st CAT removed, the second one was left as many people said that this CAT is very good, comparable to high flow race CATs and lot of owners of EVO 8, who visited the same "exhaust guy" as I did, keep the original 2nd CAT. The end muffler is completelly new as well, made by that guy from scratch, the same shape, placement and design, just inner things were redesigned for lower flow resistance. Price here: 630 EUR / 950 USD total. 2 days of work.
Results: the torque curve moved about 1000rpm down, means I feel serious drag earlier, from 2500 rpm. And the car is pulling even after crossing 4000rpm, so far a did test only up to 5000rpm. Sound is deeper. Not too loud, but signifficantly louder. Have to wait for my wifes commentary :P .
But...I am affraid of some unidentified sound noticeable in the cabin when driving and comming from the engine bay I guess. It is comming always when pushing the gas pedal, pressed more or even less, means always when the engine is under any load. Higher load, louder noise. Lower load, bit lower noise. My first guess is valves. Sounds like valves clicking under high load at too low rpms on very old Skoda cars with carburettor, which most of you could not meet or heard about ever. I do not believe it can be the turbocharger - it is just whistling at full load as early as at 2500rpm. Air inlet - no I don't think that sucking air into engine can be so loud with original air box. And definitelly it not comming from the muffler. The second option is that explosion beats comming from cylinders are less absorbed, silenced or suppressed in the full flow downpipe and it is resonating enough to be heard even in cabin.
Would like to consult with those who changed their exhaust systems. Do you recognize or did you experience such sound after changing exhaust? Thanks
P.S.: Would like to post some pictures and video with sound, even when sound effect was not my objective :blush-anim-cl: .

So, it is here, I got the CEL light. But when I try to check the error code via OBD II diagnostic connector (12v LED with + on pin 1 and - on pin 4 or 5), there is no pulse indication/LED blinking. The LED just permanently lits, very dimmed, on much lower volatge than 12V (did not measure exactly), may be even less than 5V.
Please did any of you guys use this LED diagnostic method and can you confirm, that no blinking, just low constant voltage, means code P0000 = no error indicated by ECU?
Thanx

QUOTE(Kemo @ Aug 16 2008, 04:23 PM) Yesterday I got my Outlander Turbo with new exhaust. 70mm pipe ... Kemo good job indeed! Mine from turbo to the second cat is 76mm, then till end 70mm, sound a bit more but passed my wife's test!!! - meanwhile there is also another sound coming from the turbocharger and from the air intake. First cat removed, second cat in place, O2 sensor left in the same position but placed an adaptor where the O2 sensor mounted on. No check engine since modification (about 4 months ago) at all. I will capture some foto to upload for you soon.

CEL fix : (IMG: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2154/214218ug.jpg) with this simple adaptor the o2 sensor wont be in the exhaust gas. How I remember it is simple only 3 wires ! The Ecu is checking the 2nd o2 if the engine temperature is optimal and you drive with constant speed. I got CEL at the highway.
