Hello!

Car is running great, the video I uploaded had en "error" link, but serach on Outlander Turbo test and you´ll find videos from TomasJ. As I said with wet snow on the road.

Stunnigly pleased with performance. It´s not an tuned Evo, will never compare driving perfomance with that car but pure acceleration is really nice.

Torque is really nice, pulled a bif trailer with alloy top (covered top), 2,3 m high, weighs 600 kg, loaded a lot, total weight around 1 500 kg. No match at all, acc really nice, only problem wheels skidding when I gave throlle :) even on 4th gear at 60-70 at low rpm.

This is how the car should be from the beginning and that all owners should be able to feel.

Hello!

With Nokian Hakkapellitta winter tires, 16 inch/215 mm wide high friction wintertires with 140 spikes and a fem millimeter of wet snow (= like a layer of mud to drive through) and high roll resistance all measurments are presented, also when I made the videos.

The car during the above mentioned circumstances, goes from 60-100 on third gear just under 3 seconds. Approx 2,93 sec.

PLS don not compare driving on dry roads with summertires, as an example all axels and oils in transmission are thicker in our Lapland climate since the test was done when having minus 2 and during the day we had +2 so thats why we had wet snow on the roads. We have a strange and very warm winter in Swedish Lapland, normally we have minus 30 degrees.

At least I can see when I compare to other tuned cars that my car is quick. I´m logning for the summer that is 4-5 months away. Also having my eyes on the EVO X that might be my next car :). This Outlander is running so great that I love it but you can never compare the effect that EVO 9 and X has on you. After driving them you just love the car!!

This is a very imrpressive time indeed!
I can do the same in 4.9!!! which is 2 seconds more!!
I can't imagine that there will be any (standard) Evo that will be quicker from your car!

I think I will order a Tactrix cable... Maybe it will work with Outlander too.

Hi!

Did you already order your Tactrix cable? If yes, which one (Mitsu only or Mitsu+Sub4ru ?) and have you had a chance to use it with EcuFlash? I would like to order the cable as well, at least for logging purposes, too know the engine system better. Do you have any experience with reading your ECU with EcuFlash?

Bye

On the weekend I tried to open the ecu, but I can not... Yes I had to modified the white connector how the Airtrek forums suggest to cut back the wire and connect to the green cable, but no success. I have the Mitsubishi specific version . I'm very said about it.
How I see in the Outlander turbo there is no MAP sensor ?? on the Airtrek and the Evo there is at the intake manifold, but How I remember in the Outlander turbo i didn't see. I will see the car only at the end of the week.

Hello from Lapland!

Crashed the car slightly on Friday! An old lady coming towards me in opposite lane made a left turn in front of me when I was 3 meter from her. Pure ice where it happened so not much to do but at low speed happily enough. Her fault and just crashed headlights and some paintjob on my car.

Though I now drive a standard Outy Turbo and my god what a difference. Pls I really urge you all that as long as you own an Outlander Turbo you should be able to feel how they are in tuned versions.

This rental car is standard and it´s like a totally different engine.

For more info about where I made my car pls see ww.arctictuning.se

More mods are done next week if all repairs are finished.

Ohh, I feel sorry for your car... bad news :-S
I think unfortunatelly this tactrix cable wont work with our car... I cant open the map. it will be a different ecu than in the evo or the airtrek how i see there is no map sensor and we have electric gas pedal...

It is not my car and it is an Airtrek ;-)
I just upload that images to show the Airtrek has MAP sensor like the Evo. But in the Outlander turbo has not..

Hello from TOJ!

Today we had almost :) dry roads. I tried from like 5km/h to do an acc test with the wintertires on a really "good-grip-tarmac". I have 215 mm wide full friction lamell wintertires and didn´t have any grip at all on 1th gear.

Due to this and since I had a car coming closer from behind I over done the rpm so the engine cut for a while between 1th and 2nd gear.

In spite of this it´s remarkable that the car is "spinning" all 4 wheels all the way on 1 th gear, it´s soooo strong.

I uploaded the nice tour on www.youtube.com but due to a car close by that proved to be the police... (in a civil turbo car with video+policepilot:) I missed also one more time the gearshifting and went over max rpm and engine cut. Can´t be heard that well on video but anyhow a nice tour.

Will be nice with summer and wide tires, + the new dumpvalve I´m waiting for. That will make the cat faster.

New video on youtube, search for: Outlander Turbo 5-180 km/h , full 4 wheel "spin" 1th gear :)

Greetings from TOJ

i have had contact with 3 shops that do tuning...
one in norway, rather expensive but offers free dyno.can give me 245BHP/350NM

two in sweden as toj has mentioned...

JRM with 250BHP/400NM

and ARCCTIC,they GUESS 240BHP/360NM...and they say 265BHP/390-400NM with other exhaust.

the one in norway is the most expensive, then JRM and the cheapest is ARCTIC.
i guess ill go for the norwegian firm or JRM when the time comes.Cant get real with what they GUESS what you get out of a car with selfmade software.
i want hard evidence :) some dynopapers would have changed my mind.
especially when you have to pay so much for extra horsepower.
not too many doing the EVO8 outlander in norway...too bad...

have a nice evening

2) 250BHP/400NM
3) 240BHP/360NM... OR 265BHP/390-400NM with other exhaust.

Taking into account what Toj says, the 3rd choice with total new exhaust will give you more.
There is a friend in Athens that changed the downpipe with a 3 inch one and fit a racing cat also, plus new air intake system, plus ecutek retuning of ecu where after dyno climbed to 280 bhp and 38.5 nm torgue!!!
Soon we will read for that car through some car mags that are interested to test it.

crazynor go ahead :essen37:
