I am a new 2007 outlander owner who is trying to determine the correct maintenance schedule to follow. My dealer say every 3000 (don't they ALL).
When I check the web page the regular maintenance is scheduled for every 7500, but when I review the PDF file attached to the web page is states 5000 mile intervals as the reccomendation. Any suggestions?
My driving is mostly highway and about 400 miles a week.

open your owners manual. Read.

used the "severe" schedule, because there isn't a car in the country that doesn't fall under the definitions of "severe".

I had the same problem. My dealer said every 12,000 miles believe it or not. And the manual says like 3500 for severe and 7500 for regular. I am about to take mine in for the first oil change at 3,000 miles (only 2 months old) because I want to do the first one semi-early to get any particles or other crap out, but after this, I am probably going to stick to about 5,000 miles or 4 months, which is one of the schedules in the internal computer, so I can keep track in the info display in the car. But it is all up to you, with what you feel right doing. I have heard many people saying anywhere from 3,000/3 months, to 7,500/6 months depending on the weather and the usage, I don't think I have heard 12,000 miles anywhere else, I don't know what the salesman was smokin.

Hello fellow outlander owners!

Here in Romania (that's eastern europe), we have the 12000 miles (15000km) normal maintenance schedule, and 5000 miles (7500km) for severe offroad usage.

Although I don't go offroading a lot, I intend to keep the "severe" schedule
