Hi:

I wonder if anyone has an idea how much will it cost for the replacement of the valve seals on a 6g72 engine 3.0 V6. My montero consumes about 1 quart every 1000 miles and has already 180K miles on it.

My montero runs very well now but I just moved to Illinois and I am worried that I may not passed the emmision test for my vehicle regisration.

I do't want to get rid of my montero because it is very reliable, comfortable and doesn't kill me in gas bills. Now I get about 18mpg to 21 mpg.

Thank for any info shall be appreciated.

Thank you.

those engines are notoreous for leaking out the exaust valves my guess would be somewhere around $600 depending on your abilites you can try it yourself.
