My son's car is a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclpise RS.

The battery was replaced but the radio displays CODE.

We got the serial number but the radio says OFF. We pressed all the buttons but the radio does not respond.

We plan to get the code but if the radio still sez OFF what do we do?

Thanks in advance.

if the radio says off. what you need to do is let the car sit for an hour with the key on the "on" position. after the hour has passed the radio should reset itself and the word code should appear once again. one you get the right code then just enter it and there you have it a working radio. (it only gives you three chances to enter the code before it locks itself again and the word "off" will appear once again.) :57:

Leave the key in the ignition, set to accessory position for one hour?
Won't this drain the battery? Thanks :)

not long enough to drain your battery. plus you dont have alot of items running at this time. just the basic and the radio which is not even on.
