hi all very new to this took me 10 mins to find out how to post hope im right live in dublin ireland have owned carisma for 2 years (1999). recently car stalls when driving any speed any gear then seems to right itself. last 2 days stuck in heavy traffic (50mins)car cuts out restarts ok with me having to rev it a lot. car cuts out again same procedure to get it going this happened at least 10times this morning eventually got to work bad smell of sulphur and petrol mixed car still missbehaved.coming home this evenging no traffic no problems

This sounds like the catalytic converter smell of sulphur or bad eggs indicative of a failed or failing Cat.
